Notice to all Members of Maple Leaf Acres Members’ Association
As all of our Members are now aware, the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a significant impact to our day-to-day lives. How we live and work daily has drastically changed. As stated before, the Association’s first and foremost concern is the health and safety of our Members and our staff, as well as the health and safety of our greater community. We have undertaken important steps to protect you and your families and we will continue to do so.
In response to the pandemic, the Ontario government has taken the unprecedented step of declaring an emergency under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, and has made an Order under the Act requiring that all places of non- essential business close. Pursuant to section 13 of the Order, as amended on April 3, 2020, the Association has been Ordered to close those sections of the park that are seasonal.
Effective immediately, if your lease provides for a period of occupancy of less than 12 months per year, you and your guests will not be permitted entry or access to your lot. To the extent that you are already at the park, you must immediately vacate the park, safely and orderly, and return to your permanent Canadian residence. While leases require each seasonal Member to have such an alternate permanent Canadian residence, should you have no place to go, please contact the Board who will make every effort to work with you during these extraordinary times.
We can appreciate that this is not welcome news, however, the Ontario government’s measures are intended to protect the health and safety of all Ontarians and the Association intends to comply with these requirements. While no one knows how long these circumstances will last, we want to know that decisions being made now by the Board, and in the immediate future, are aimed at assisting our Members best weather the pandemic.
