Notice to all Members of Maple Leaf Acres Members’ Association Regarding COVID-19
Maple Leaf Acres Members’ Association takes the health and safety of all of our members seriously. The Association continues to monitor the impact of COVID 19 in our community and is committed to take whatever measures that we can in combating the spread of the virus.
In addition to steps previously taken, the Recreation Center and Adult Hall are now in complete lock down and only accessible to staff and the cleaning contractor. The playground has also been closed and caution tape has been installed around the perimeter.
For your information the Rec Centre and the Adult Hall have been completely disinfected following the lock down. We have ordered the disinfection of the mail room as well. To those that have returned and went into self-isolation we thank you for your support in this cause and offer any assistance we may be able to provide.
To those that have returned or are still to return, you are at high risk of spreading COVID 19. You are required by law to self-isolate for 14 days, stay in your trailer, do not visit stores, family or friends. Failure to do so could result in substantial penalties. Members who have not been out of the country and have been socializing with those who have should also do the 14-day self-isolation. Those members are not doing the other members any favors by mixing with those who have just returned. They are in fact putting everyone at risk.
Ontario Government is now prohibiting gatherings of more than 5 people, down from 50.
The Association reminds all members that it is imperative that members returning from another country inform the office of their return, take the self-isolation seriously, remain in their trailers and when outside, avoid any areas traveled by other members and avoid entirely coming across any surface upon which they may leave the virus behind. It seems that some members have not done so or have entered the building on more than one occasion prior to it being locked down therefore requiring additional disinfection.
Accordingly, the Association has taken immediate steps to ensure the health and safety of members. This includes closing all non-essential common areas where frequent touching without hand washing or otherwise encourage personal contact.
The expectations are that members will comply with the law and the recommendations of public health officials when it comes to COVID 19, including social distancing protocols and in particular when social isolation arises.
Members are encouraged to report to the authorities anyone that has or continues to be in violation of the law as the Association cannot expose other members or our staff, to risk.
